Winner of both the Hugo and Nebula Awards, the powerful, classic story about a man who receives an operation that turns him into a genius...and introduces him to heartache.

Charlie Gordon is about to embark upon an unprecedented journey. Born with an unusually low IQ, he has been chosen as the perfect subject for an experimental surgery that researchers hope will increase his intelligence-a procedure that has already been highly successful when tested on a lab mouse named Algernon.
As the treatment takes effect, Charlie's intelligence expands until it surpasses that of the doctors who engineered his metamorphosis. The experiment appears to be a scientific breakthrough of paramount importance, until Algernon suddenly deteriorates. Will the same happen to Charlie?

Reviews-
  • DOGO Books megank - This book, Flowers for Algernon, is one of the deepest and most creative book I've ever read during 2015. In this story, the man character Charlie starts of to be a retarded person who works at his uncle's bakery. From the time he started to go to school, he was bullied and teased by everyone, even his own mother and sister. One day, a group of scientists and doctors offered to do a surgery on him where he would become a genius. Although this surgery is doned only for the second time, with the first being done on a mouse named Algernon, Charlie accepts. His life makes a 360 degree change and he starts to have different relationships with people and the world. My favorite character is Alice Kinnian, she is the teacher and love interest of Charlie. I really like her because she is a really cheerful and optimistic person and is always trying to help people. Even though Charlie came a long way, she always tried to help him and stood by his side. I would totally recommend this book to everyone because it is unique and unlike any book you've read before, trust me!
